Work fetch error

I have the same problem. It just affects one computer - another computer that is almost exactly the same configuration has no problems. Both version 7.2.39 and 7.2.42 have this problem.

Could it be associated with OpenCL? I have two NVIDIA cards (GT 640 and GTX 660) and I started getting OpenCL tasks a couple of weeks ago.

It does seem to be sneaking a successful report/fetch cycle through every once in a while, but then it goes back to similar behavior.

You're using BOINC 7.2.39

You're using BOINC 7.2.39 which has a problem where it will write 'garbage' to its system XML files. This garbage can be sent up to the servers, which will then report back with XML errors. Update to 7.2.42 which has been recommended since Friday, as that will most probably fix it.

For me it got fixed mid morning EST US time, I'm guessing that meant project side problems.

See the Fermi LAT Gamma-ray pulsar search #3 "FGRP3" thread in Technical News, where this problem was also reported.
