Hi!

I checked your computers and I don't see any computation error at all.

There have been quite a few of such errors especially on Linux systems (the "SIGABRT" problem) but after an update of the Linux app to 4.21, this seems to be mostly resolved. Pending credits are back to a normal value as well after a failure of the validator process over the weekend was resolved.

Both in comparison to other projects and taken for itself, Einstein@Home is in very good shape, as far as I can see.

Yep, it is there where we can see it now. This is the error 10 (checkpointing) error that was mentioned a few days ago. Do you remember if you had any power outages, either naturally or self-inflicted? Anything with real heavy disk usage during the running of that unit? Have you checked your hard drive for errors recently?

I'm having a lot of errors

I'm having a lot of errors too, and if it keeps up, I'm going to have to quit Einstein. As harsh as this may sound, the fact of the matter is that fully half of the WUs my machine has attempted have errored out, and one of those errors came after my machine was working on it for something like 40 hours straight.

I'm not going to tie my computer up for the better part of two solid days, only to have it error out, and not get any RAC out of it. While I'm not a complete RAC whore, I am doing this to get results, which I expect to get credit for.

Here is a link to my results.

Message 66916 in response to message 66915

I had the same problem with many results. Right know results seem to be smaller and it seems there are no more errors.

I produced the error following the steps in this thread, but nobody has confirmed it.

Tomorrow I will try to reproduce the error upgrading BOINC.

By the way. Your link is broken

That's strange. The version of BOINC you are using is a beta version, right?

[snip]

Granted I've only used a few different BOINC apps, and Einstein seems particularly flaky. No production app should be so prone to dumping WU's for no good reason.

And it's not like PrimeGrid where your rig can crunch a WU in minutes. My moderately powerful AMD rig takes something like 44 hours/WU.

The other thing I find troublesome is the lack of persistence in the results. for a while, it showed two good results and two errors. Now there is one good result and two errors. My heck, even with the hundreds of WUs PrimeGrid has sent me, they manage to keep all the completed results for a while.

Keith. The core client

Keith. The core client shouldn't make a difference. That error was benign as far as I remember. I got it consistently and didn't have any bad returned results.

But an upgrade to 5.9.12 will get rid of the state file errors.
