Hello,

what are this 15 MB large WU's, which contain more than one small workunit?
It looks like BOINC is not able to do them right on multiprocessor systems with the default 0.1 days cache.

When I got one of this workpackages, BOINC starts a WU on every core, but at the end, when only one WU is left, all other cores had to wait until the last WU is finished before BOINC starts to download new work.

Well, the 15MB file is the datapack, and they have more than one result's worth of work, regardless of the type. The other smaller files with the same root name are the actual results to run from it.

However if I'm reading your post right, you are correct that you should not get a "stall" for a new datapack because one core was working on the last result in the previous pack.

What were you getting on the message tab when this occured? Is this the first time you've seen this happen?

Check your preferences and make sure you allow enough disk space to download another data file. If you don't allow enough space, it has to finish the old one before it will download a new one.

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

I have enough free disk space and I have allowed to use it all.

I think this happend because of the Einstein downtimes. Later I saw a bunch of [---] Rescheduling CPU: files downloaded messages and then BOINC downloads enough work to keep all core running.
