I have a problem getting into my account. I have changed email addresses but didn't get to change it on my account. I have lost my password and I have lost my account key as my email program crashed and that is where I kept them all. So they were lost. I have created a new account just so I can post here but I want to use my old one. I don't want to start over again as I have crunched a lot of wus on my old account, it will be a shame to start over again. How can I get my old account back please?

Are you still attached to Einstein, crunching for it?
If you are, then your account key can be found in your account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml file in the BOINC directory, between the tags. Copy it out of there and use it to log in with.

Also where can I find the your account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml in the BOINC directory? Sorry for the questions I am just so very blonde to things like this LOL

Go to the folder (directory) where you installed BOINC on your computer. In that directory you will find a file called account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml. Open that file with a text editor and browse for the tag that Jord mentioned, where you will find a 32 character string which you can carefully cut and paste into the account key box on a login page to get you to your old account. Make sure you exit the text editor without making any changes to the file you browsed.

Once you have logged into your old account you can correct your email address there. If it's going to be the same as the address you used to create the new account, you should change the new account first to give it a dummy email address since you can't have two different accounts with the same email address.

You can simply abandon the new account with the dummy address once you have got your old account back.

Cheers,
Gary.
