This is a known font problem with the "new" graphics App. You will see this with other searches (Binary Radio Pulsar Search ect.) too, if you have Windows Vista / 7 and are using the standard M$ driver. We still don't know how to fix this. Mike is currently into some OpenGL development, possibly he gets an idea.
What would be really helpful is if you could download and run the following two utilities from these links : glewinfo and visualinfo
- just put them anywhere suitable and run as is. They will emit their respective report files : glewinfo.txt and visualinfo.txt, which I hope you could post the contents of here.

Excellent! My guess is that it was a non-OpenGL-compliant graphics driver.
