E@H not fetching any new work

I have BOINC set to connect to the network every 5 days which up until now has been working fine. However I am currently crunching my last wu and BOINC will not fetch any more work. If I "update project" it returns a "NOTE: not requesting new work or returning results".

Other than that there are no error messages showing up and everything seems to be working fine. I'll be interested to see what happens when this wu is done - maybe it will download work then?

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Is there any way to force a work fetch?

E@H not fetching any new work

OK, that last wu just finished. Messages show it uploaded OK but the file transfer info stated "error" with no further explanation. KBoincSpy is showing that the last wu was completed and uploaded.

My E@H cache is now empty and no new work has been fetched. "update project" results in the same old "NOTE:no new work requested or results reported".

Is this something broken at my end or is it a server issue?

See thread

See thread http://einsteinathome.org/node/190863.

I'm experiencing the same thing. It seems to coincide with the RAM upgrade on the server and the backlog of user requests immediately following the unplanned downtime that was longer than originally projected.

I've been able to get new

I've been able to get new work all through yesterday and today.

Justakiwibird, in the Manager screen, on your "projects" tab, click on Einstein to highlight it, and check to see that "no new work" button on the left is showing. This button toggles between "no new work" and "allow new work", and whichever one is showing means that the opposite one is in effect.

I haven't gotten any new

I haven't gotten any new Einstein work since Sunday, but I've been working off a tremendous SETI long term debt (about 55 hours worth) since their big outage caused Einstein to get way ahead last week. The debt should be cleared sometime today and should start getting Einstein work again.

Do you have any other projects running and if so how do their debt numbers look, or are there any projects running in "earliest deadline first" mode or anything with a deadline BOINC doesn't think it can meet? CPDN maybe? Any of these could be keeping you from getting any new work.

My SETI debt finally cleared and it got 14 new Einstein work units, so we're crunching again.

I seem to be having the same

I seem to be having the same problem and it has existed for around at least a week. I keep updating to no avail and noticed the same message. I also have the same problem with SETI@home and LHC@home. However LHC appears to be out of work.

I setup a laptop to run BOINC and was able to get work from Einstein, SETI and another. This is the original PC that I'm doing the work on.

Everyone running multiple

Everyone running multiple projects, please read up on what Debt is in using the Work Scheduler.

That is why your E@H project (or any other project) will not request more work: Boinc is trying to run off the Long Term Debt built up by other projects, giving them priority to your CPU. Until the debts have levelled off, the affected project will not download new work.

You can check your Long Term Debt values with BoincDV (Boinc Debt Viewer, Windows only).
