        Except these are uploads, and the HTTP error in question is 502 'Bad gateway'.

              While Bernd has posted that uploads are re-enabled, and my hosts have successfully received downloads since his announcement, and the server status page is full of green, my uploads currently fail almost instantly.

              Message log samples include:

              Temporarily failed upload of PB0079_01741_34_0_0: can't resolve hostname	
Temporarily failed upload of PB0079_01741_34_0_1: transient HTTP error	
Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site


              With the transient HTTP error message dominating.

              I lack outage experience to judge whether this is just normal overload behavior as things recover with a great many hosts requesting upload service, or the servers are still awry, or I need to adjust something here, but for the time being I intend just to wait.

                When upload/download has been disabled for a while (as it was here) it can take a while for the backlog to clear

                Just let Boinc Manager keep retrying. The backoff times are designed specifically for this situation, to keep from overloading the servers

                  My 7970 has been idling all day because it can't upload the hundreds of 4k result files from 18 BRP4/BRP5 tasks.
                  I assume the server is overloaded because each little 4k file is a separate upload. Consuming http sessions and database work.
                  Wonder how much faster we could have gotten back to work if the 18 tasks produced just 18 result files.
