They said they would continue

They said they would continue to support the 3000 series gpus they have sold.  And sell them till they run out of stock.

With all the evga rtx 3000 series out there I expect the used market to continue to have many available.

My thought's exactly.  But,

My thought's exactly.  But, when I do come back to doing my thing with the new computer case, I wonder if any NEW 3080's will still be available.  Also, I wonder how many mining cards will be sold through the likes like EBAY.  I wouldn't want an old mining card - too much used up already - and I doubt ( but don't actually know ) if anyone else will be still building 3080's.

My hope is that since EVGA dropped out of the GPU business for two primary reasons - NVIDIA's sales tactics and EVGA's reduced revenue vs NVIDIA's increased revenue - that other's will soon follow suit.  And the fact that so many reports in both YT videos & articles about the 40xx series cards drawing so much more wattage, plus IBM's inability to make a CPU that can get down to the level of wattage that AMD draws, that will inhibit sales by NVIDIA and they'll need to drop the MSRP to an acceptable level.

I'm just thinking aloud with my keyboard.  I still have to wait nearly 14 months till I (we?) know for sure.

Yeah, quite the story. I saw

Yeah, quite the story. I saw it over on the youtube channel of Gamers Nexus when they broke the story. Hope the staff will land on their feet.

I certainly agree.  I think EVGA as a REPUTABLE company will do everything possible to help out their employees, whether by finding a place for them within their own company of help finding them a new position outside their company.  Best of luck goes out to them.

I looked at Craig's List today in the Computer Parts section and someone was selling a 3080Ti for $625!!! It showed several pictures of it and it was nice and clean but nothing about mining, gaming, oc'ing or whatever.

While the price is a good one, as I have told other's, I wouldn't want to buy a used GPU without KNOWING whether it was used in mining or not, and definitely not from Craig's List.  I have heard too many horror stories about Craig's List sellers not being on the up-n-up.  It has been 7 years since I last was even on CL.

Yeah that one was waaay too cheap to make me interested as well!! Now I DID buy some DDR3 memory off of FB's Marketplace, locally, for half the usual price and it works great!! 32gb for $45, 2 16gb sticks!!

Yes, while the world is now

Yes, while the world is now going crazy on many other fronts (in my country we hit the record high of 8.32 usd/gallon (translated price)), the GPU market seems to be stabilizing. The crash of financial markets also brought down the crypto markets below the r.o.i. point of running a gpu farm, so the markets are now flooded with these cheap cards. This means that the market price of new cards also will come down. Finally. That only leaves the chip shortage and with all the supply line disruptions globally that will probably take some more time. Here's hoping for some less volatility.
